Bright Colours. Culture. Movement. They all added up to a great day of shooting.

The Chinese New Year Parade in Chinatown, Vancouver, was the perfect opportunity to test our our new Sony A7II camera with our newly acquired Zeiss 24-70mm f/4 lens. This camera touts phenomenal in-camera stabilization in a petite mirror-less body. It was my first time attending a CNY parade, and on a clear February day the streets were filled with onlookers.

We followed the parade, and made a visit to the Sun Yat Sen Garden, the mandate of the garden is to “maintain and enhance the bridge of understanding between Chinese and western cultures, promote Chinese culture generally and be an integral part of the local community.” Which is a very fitting theme for the day.

As the day finished, I became more more impressed with this camera - the amount of customization is useful, and the image detail is impressive.

Cheers,

Harm
